Eligibility for Admission

  • Applicants must have passed the HS or equivalent examinations recognized by the NBU authorities.

  • Applicants who have qualified in the year 2018, 2019 and 2020 are eligible to apply.

  • A student can apply for a maximum of three Honours Programme Courses and one Program Course in a single application for BA Stream, One Honours Programme and One Programme for B.Com Stream and One Programme for B.Sc Stream.

  • The minimum marks criteria for application to Honours courses is 55% in aggregate or 60% marks in relevant subject opted for Honours and 50% marks in aggregate for General and OBC-A/OBC-B Category students. The same for SC/ST Category students are 50% marks in aggregate or 60% marks in relevant subject opted for Honours and 45% marks in aggregate.

  • For the calculation of marks, 54.5% marks will be treated as 55% marks and 49.5% marks will be treated as 50% marks and 44.5% marks will be treated as 45% marks.

  • Reservation Rules of the West Bengal Govt. shall be strictly followed during admission. Students applying in reserved category shall ensure that they possess the requisite certificate duly given by the SDO/BDO in their names / father’s name and upload such certificate during applying to the college. The same rule apply for PH candidates applying in PH Category.

Documents Require

A SET OF SELF ATTESTED TESTIMONIALS WITH DULY FILLED APPLICATION FORM IS NEEDED TO SUBMIT DURING VERIFICATION AT COLLEGE.


* FOLLOWING ORIGINAL DOCUMENTS TO BE PRODUCED AT THE TIME OF VERIFICATION



  • Printed copy of duly filled application form.

  • H.S. Mark Sheet.

  • Madhyamik Admit Card/Certificate or Age Proof Certificate.

  • Student’s own Caste / PH Certificate from appropriate authority as per Govt. Rule.

  • One coloured passport size photograph.

  • Migration Certificate in original for other than West Bengal Board students and one photocopy of the same (self attested).

  • Physical attendance in class for verification of testimonials on stipulated dates which will be notified later on (after making payment) is mandatory, otherwise his/ her candidature will be cancelled.

    The Candidate himself/ herself must be present during verification of testimonials. If in any case, due to any emergency ( Hospitalization etc. ) the candidate could not appear in classes during verification of testimonials on the stipulated dates, his/her authorised representatives may appear with all original testimonials and supporting documents of hospitalization etc only.

    The Candidate has to submit cancellation certificate at the time of verification of testimonials, if he/ she was already admitted in another college.

    In case of any mistake/error in Provisional merit list published on 28/08/2020, candidates have to contact college through E-mail (pmsm1985@gmail.com) and submit application addressed to the Teacher-in-Charge within 29/08/2020 up to 3 p.m. positively for rectification.

PROCESS OF ONLINE ADMISSION

  • Based on the merit formula, as stipulated by the NBU a merit list in total for all students will be prepared on the basis of online application received by the college.

    The Merit formula for Honours Programme Courses Shall be =T/4

    Where T= marks obtained in English + marks obtained in the subject opted for Honours + best marks of two other subjects [excluding EVS and the subject opted for Honours & English].

    If the student does not have the specific subject in his/her previous course, the procedure for Merit calculation will be as follows:

    Merit = [Marks obtained in English + Marks in three other best of subjects excluding EVS] / 4 Admission to all Programme courses will also be based strictly on merit. Merit shall be calculated as per the following norms:

    Merit = [Marks obtained in English + Marks in three other best of subjects excluding EVS] / 4

  • The merit list of all eligible students shall be available on the college website. This merit list will be prepared considering all students as General category students and also separate merit list for reserved category students. Students can verify their positions in the merit list by logging into the college app.

  • Admissions to all Honours Programme / Programme Courses shall take place by publication of Merit List of eligible students.

  • Students can take admission to a particular course at the first instance, and can very well change the option so exercised at a later stage based on score and position in the merit list, but if there is a difference in fees that has to be first paid by the students.

  • Mere submission of application form does not guarantee admission to the college.

  • Date of Provisional Merit List will be published on 28/08/2020.

  • For any error committed by the students in filling up of application form / upload of documents, edit facility is available till payment of registration fees, after that such students has to contact the college for any necessary correction before publication of final merit list. No claim whatsoever will be entertained thereafter.

  • If at the time of final verification before the classes begins if it is found that the student has suppressed facts or submitted false documents his admission to the college shall stand cancelled.
